The Quapaw Camp Adventure Program

Rock Climbing Adventure

Each week at Blass Scout Reservation summer camp we will offer a five-day adventure program. The scouts will come with their troop (or provisionally at some other week or as an additional week), arrive on Sunday, leave on their adventure on Monday, return to their troop on Friday, and leave with their troop. Participation limited to 12 scouts each week.

The program will consist of real on rock climbing, boldering, rappelling, while camping out, and cooking on wood fires. This will be an advanced cooking experience that will enhance the experience. Leave no trace camping, training, and certification will be included. Full time summer camp staff certified as climbing instructors and directors will staff the Adventure.

Merit badges included will be Climbing and a selected unique badge such as bird watching will be included each week. Cooking and Camping available for those who might need it. Advanced First Aid will be taught. Selected merit badge requirements can be completed at the request of the participating scout.

This Adventure will be conducted at a nationally recognized area in the Ozarks that has hundreds of climbs available from boldering to a difficulty rating of 5.12; selections of climbs will depend on the experience and capabilities of the individuals in the group. This is an opportunity available in only a very few camps in the world. A truly Rare High Adventure Opportunity.

Cost: $225, current summer camp payments can be applied towards this Adventure.
A $75 non-refundable deposit will hold a scout's position. Positions filled on a first come first serve basis
Requirements: First Class rank, age 14 by the beginning of the week of the program. Will need personal camping gear. Bring a tent if possible.
Adults: We have positions available for adults to work with this program. This is your opportunity to do high adventure without the time and expense of a national high adventure trip.
