Quapaw Area Council Helps Hurricane Florence Victims

This Relief Effort Has Now Ended

In December 2018, the Quapaw Area Council engaged in a cooperative effort with the East Carolina Council as well as nine other councils to bring much needed relief supplies to families still trying to recover from the devastation of Hurricane Florence that hit on Sept 14. More than 2000 homes are uninhabitable due to up to 5 feet of water, mold growth and tree damage. The East Carolina Council is led by Scout Executive Doug Brown, Jr. who grew up in the Quapaw Area Council and spent many years on camp staff.

As a way of showing Scout Spirit to those in need this Christmas season, the Quapaw Area Council received donations of toys to serve as Christmas presents for children aged 7-12. A special thanks to Hugg and Hall Mobile Storage for providing a 20′ mobile storage unit to keep donated items secure.

Thank you to all who participated!
