On July 15th, I had the great pleasure of attending the summer camp staff’s closing banquet. After a long day of hard work closing down camp, about 70 staffers came to the Donald W. Reynolds Scout Training Center for an exquisite meal. Their theme was 1970s and many dressed the part for some added fun!
In my comments, I thanked Camp Director Justin Clark (now on his way to the National Jamboree), Archer Tribett Program Director, Frank Bolton Business Manager, David Clark Camp Commissioner (and 5th week substitute Camp Director), as well as the rest of the staff for a job well done. This year’s evaluations from leaders and campers were extremely complimentary of all aspects of summer camp operation. The very few suggestions for improvement were very minor and are already being considered for 2018. In fact, everyone was very complimentary of our staff. This is a great achievement considering 65% of them were in their first year as staffers.
Special thanks goes to Jinnings Osborne for providing healthy, nutritious and delicious meals throughout the six weeks. He also throws a great closing banquet!
