Welcoming of New Units

The Pinnacle District would like to welcome Troop 6295 as our newest female troop to the family of Scouting. We look forward to all the wonderful things that Troop 6295 (Maumelle First United Methodist Church) will do in our district. Troop 6295 is being led by Aubrietta Jones.

Outdoor Leader Training:

The Pinnacle District will be holding Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) and Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) at Maumelle Park in Little Rock on May 14-15, 2021. The course will begin at 5:30pm on Friday the 14th and end on Saturday the 15th at about 4:00pm. This course is an introduction for participants in outdoor skills. Let’s face it, many of you already have some of these skills. This course gives insight into how to teach those skills to scouts. This is a required course for Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, and Venturing Crew Leaders. For Cub Scout units, it is required that one person on a Cub Scout campout be BALOO trained.

BALOO does have an online prerequisite that MUST be taken before you arrive.

YPT and Hazardous Weather training MUST be current as well.

Location: Maumelle Park in Little Rock

Dates: May 14-15, 2021

Cost: $10.00

Day Camp 2021:

The Pinnacle District is planning to hold the 2021 Day Camp on August 4th through August 6th. We will have much more information in the coming weeks.

Thank You:

The Pinnacle District would like to thank Van Zbinden and the training committee for conducting an extremely successful training course in March. You all are the greatest.

Friends of Scouting

The Pinnacle District is extremely excited to announce our 2021 leadership team. Marnie Oldner, Stone Bank, CEO is serving as the Friends of Scouting Chair and the Friends of Scouting Community Chair. So far, she has gathered a team of over 20 captains and workers who will help to raise the district goal of $75,000. We also have Sue Bender who is doing a fantastic job of leading the 2021 Family Friends of Scouting Campaign as the Family Friends of Scouting Chair. Without these people, we simply couldn’t do it. The district has currently raised $20,473.

District Volunteers:

The Pinnacle District would like to welcome the following volunteers:

Shawn Johnson – District Chairman

Jason Chacko

Greg Bryant

Many thanks for your support.
