Cub Scout Leader Fast Start

Cub Scout Leader Training begins with the Fast Start program. This new interactive on-line program will acquaint the new Cub Scout leader with the basic information about their position. It also enhances the video-based training available from your pack. Talk to your Cubmaster or Committee Chair about the video. If they do not have it, you can check it out from the Council Service Center. Available Online!



Leader Specific Training

This course is designed for all volunteers and provides the basics of the Scouting program, the age appropriateness of those programs, and the values and methods of Scouting. The second part of the basic leader training is leadership position specific training and it is designed to present in-depth information for a new leader in a specific position within the Scouting Program. Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO)

This is an energetic training that will cover everything you need to know to plan and run a pack overnighter. Information on selecting and using camping equipment, how to run a campfire program, outdoor activities, first aid, safety, games, ceremonies, plus hands-on Cub Scout cooking demonstrations! Everything you need to know to make your pack overnighter a fun, successful event!

BSA has made a number of changes to the camping policy for Tigers, Cub Scouts and Webelos Scouts. Adults leading a pack overnighter must attend BALOO training in order to be issued a tour plan. Outdoor Webelos Leader Training

This is an overnight training experience for Webelos Leaders and other interested individuals. It provides an exposure to basic outdoor skills taught to Webelos age boys. Cub Leaders’ Pow Wow

This day long “trade-show” and training seminar put on by the training committee of the Council. It provides a “one stop shopping” approach to Cub Scout / Webelos exposure /training.



Cub Scout Leader Roundtable

Roundtable is held monthly for the purpose of giving adult leaders the skills and ideas they need to deliver an exciting Cub Scout program to boys. The roundtable provides ceremonies, games, and activities for the den and pack meetings build around each month’s theme.



Youth Protection

Designed to inform and instruct adult volunteers and parents about the BSA youth protection policies and procedures. This video presentation is strongly encouraged for all adults involved in the BSA, and is required for at least one adult on every outing. Available Online!



Train-the-Trainer Conference

This invitation only class is designed to train those who conduct training for leaders in Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Varsity Scouting, Venturing, commissioner service and district / council operations. There is an extensive staff development section to prepare trainers to conduct outstanding sessions using the concepts of Ethics in Action and to ensure that learning takes place.

Chartered Organization Representatives’ Training

Designed for all Chartered Organization Representatives and other interested leaders.
